Coastal Zone Management Unit The Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU), which was established in 1996, was developed from the original Coastal Conservation Project Unit created in 1983. Since 1983 we have sought to create one of the preeminent coastal zone management institutions in the Caribbean.
Town and Country Department Planning Office To ensure that all members of the public are accorded an efficient and timely planning service in order to provide the best physical environment possible for the island.
Ministry of Agriculture-Pesticides Control Board To transform and re-position the Agricultural Sector in Barbados through the promotion of an Agri-business approach to farming, with particular attention being paid to the effective use of resources, as well as the adoption of appropriate technology and sound management practices in order to achieve internationally competitive production, processing, and marketing enterprises, which contribute significantly to social and economic development and food security, as well as to the sustainable management of the natural resource base of the country.
Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs- Applications to Import Radioactive Materials To become a leading organization in promoting, developing, and advising on, commerce and consumer affairs complemented by facilitating and informed commercial environment that is categorized by fairness and safe trading practices.
Barbados Water Authority It is the entity in Barbados charged with supplying the island with potable water as well as the provision of wastewater treatment and disposal services to the sewered areas of Bridgetown and the South Coast. The Authority is also responsible for the monitoring, assessment, control, and protection of the water resources in the public’s interest.
Ministry of Health and Wellness The Ministry of Health and Wellness is to promote and manage health and ensure environmental concerns are considered in all aspects of national development, through the provision of comprehensive, coordinated and integrated care, supported by appropriately trained staff, national leadership and standards of excellence.
