History

The Environmental Protection Department (formerly Environmental Engineering Division) was established in 1971. The Department is the environmental monitoring and pollution control department of the Government of Barbados under the Ministry of Environment, National Beautification and Fisheries and celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2020.
